Pierce & Hem Animatic
This short animatic was a birthday gift for my girlfriend, written, storyboarded, and drawn by yours truly!I had the absolute pleasure of working with one of my favourite voice actors, Wes Wiggins (AKA Funnywes)! She did a fantastic job playing both Pierce and Hem :)
Sparkle On, Raven! Reanimated
2024-2025 collaborative animated project reimagining the fourth episode of Sparkle On, Raven! The Life of Drillgirl.I helped moderate the project, alongside animating a handful of parts, at 8:01-8:03 and 12:02-12:29, as well as playing a sleepy Raven from 5:07-5:27 :)This project was challenging because it was by far the most complex animation I've ever tackled personally, but it ended up being super worth it! Everyone did a great job and you should check out the final version!!
How to Start a Cult
Animated video delving into the backstory of the main antagonist of Hexworld, a project I'm developing with my girlfriend. audio was originally from the short film How to Start a Cult. This video was a way for me to experiment with various symbols in Hexworld (eyes, butterflies, and the colour purple), and pushing myself to tell a story in a short-form, abstract way.
Buttercup
Short animation created for Art Fight 2022, featuring 15 characters designed by other artists (credits in video)! This project took me around a week and a half of continuous work.

Adventure Never Ends was a fanzine for Adventure Time featuring art and writing from various creatives!

graphic design & layout
Splatoon Mock Magazine
A personal fanart project to create a pair of magazine spreads made to look from the world of the Splatoon games.Streetwear fashion is a huge part of the culture of the playable cepholopods, Inklings and Octolings, and I wanted to stay faithful to the variety of cool clothing the game has to offer. I chose some of my favourite clothing from the game and got to work dressing them with the same variety you'd find in a lobby of real players! My favourite part of the project was getting to break structural rules. Splatoon is a game about rebellion at its core, so escaping the grids with overlapping characters, ink splat overlays, and angled elements was the perfect touch to make this project come to life and feel like something from the universe.
soracon
Soracon was an anime convention in Regina, Saskatchewan founded by myself and a group of friends from the University of Regina cosplay club! Beginning as a theoretical convention, it evolved into a full and successful convention with around 600 attendees present!
Ideation
Soracon's branding was inspired by visuals that I adore as an anime fan raised on late 2000s and early 2010s online anime fandom. That time was known for its bright colours, quick angular typefaces, and pictures of cute anime girls dominating the thumbnails of sped-up pop songs. Most importantly, though, anime fandom, and by extension anime conventions, were much smaller and more community-focussed. That home-grown feel was what we wanted to capture.Soracon's name came from a brainstorming session with the team. I suggested "Sora" (japanese word for sky) as a nod to the provincial slogan: Land of Living Skies.
Our Mascot: Puff
Like many anime conventions, we wanted a mascot to represent our event and attract potential attendees. After all, what does an anime fan love more than a cute anime character?Puff was conceived as the stereotypical Cute Anime Girl™. She's a bubbly character with cloud hair, big boots, and a comfy sweater. Each aspect of her design was decided by group discussion to be made to be cute as hell. It really worked, cuz everyone in the discord server loves her :)
Poster
Poster I made to advertise the convention. We posted a ton of these around the city of Regina in the months leading up to the convention.
Badges
These badges were made to identify staff and vendors to attendees! They have contrasting colours to differentiate them at a glance.
Social Media
In the lead-up to Soracon, I was also in charge of running the instagram and maintaining the website. This is something I had never done before at the time, but despite the hurdles, I managed to pull through and learn a ton from the experience. Specifically: remember to schedule the posts or you will forget and get off track real quick. All post layouts are built as templates on Canva, a decision I made to be sure that anybody on the team would be able to edit them in the event that I'm not around. You can see all our posts on our Instagram!
Guidebook
This guidebook contains necessary info for attendees such as maps, show hours, and the day's event schedule. Because we were a first-time con with a budget of basically nothing, we planned to keep within a small pagecount to keep costs down, which I feared would make things a little difficult to cram into one small book, but in the end it ended up fitting nicely, with even a couple pages to spare for a little bit of art.My favourite part of this aspect of the project was getting to print and cut it myself in the print room. It's really cool to get to see it go from screen to physical book!!
Results
Soracon was a success that blew everyone involved away. With 600 people coming in and out throughout the day, it was a constantly bustling and energetic atmosphere full of cosplayers, artists, and anime fans of all backgrounds. Because of the success of 2025's con, we have plans to return in 2026!
personal branding - nebulee
Ever since I went to my first pop culture convention, I've wanted to have my own spot at an artist alley table. I spent my childhood idolizing other artists that attend my local conventions, because I wanted to make a living making people smile with my art just like them. In 2022 I was able to make this dream a reality!
My Story
My brand's story begins in 2019. I had been going by "wackysnacky" at the time on all my social media platforms, and when I began applying for a table at Ganbatte 2020 in Saskatoon I realized* I wanted something a little more professional to go by in what I hoped would end up being my career.* Also I discovered "wacky snacky" is slang for breast milk...I settled on "Nebulee" as a brand name, fusing my name (Lee) and nebula, as space has been one of my interests since I was a young child. The first iteration of my logo was a little rough, but would pave the way for what would eventually become my current brand!
What I Wanted from this Redesign:
- A cleaner, more focused look with intentionally chosen colours and typefaces- a bolder and brighter colour scheme- a tone that reflects my silly and goofy nature; something fun and bubbly :)
Logo Redesign
In 2023, my college personal branding class required I design a logo for myself, and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I took a step back and looked at the colours (kind of a washed out pink, purple, and yellow) and decided I wanted to take the foundation I had there and add something a new spin to it.I chose green and blue as colours alongside my favourite shade of magenta to match my fursona/mascot character, Chip. The stars in the logo are also a nod to his star shaped glasses.
My Fursona
Chip (he/they) is a character I designed to represent me online, and he underwent a major redesign himself in 2023. I did a lot of design exploration with him, wanting to lean more into the space theme. I settled on a character theme for him that I really love: a cyberpunk space axolotl with a kickass sense of fashion!Chip's design involved a lot of introspection when it came to design choices. Everything in him is taken from something about myself: my favourite animal is the axolotl, my favourite colours are magenta and green, I love space and futuristic aesthetics, etc. All these elements come together to create a design that's very Me!
The results
These days, I'm super happy with my own branding. It took a few iterations, but I got there in the end. Like everything I do, I'll be continuing to tweak things for the rest of time, but for the time being its something I'm really proud of.
Adventure Never Ends Zine
Adventure Never Ends was an Adventure Time fanzine I helped out with, and my favourite zine modding experience to date! I was brought onto the project to create promo art, graphics for the social media, and to format the book itself to be ready for print! The goal of the project was to create a lovely book that is a celebration of the Adventure Time universe. A team of about 40 creatives created art and writing for the book, and I put it together!
Social Media Graphics
My concept for the social media graphics was to keep a consistent style with the font, logo, textures, and art, but change the colours up to tell each different type of graphic apart from a distance. This way, people scrolling on social media will always notice something different, instead of the same visuals getting boring and lost in the noise.
The Zine
The final formatting of the zine was my favourite part of the project. For one, it was super cool getting to see everyone's work come together into a finished product. For two, this was the first zine I formatted after starting my college graphic design program, so it was fun getting to flex the muscles I'd built up over a year or so.A personal highlight of the zine is the collage in the front. I love how it turned out, giving the reader a sneak peek of all the beautiful art that they'd be seeing later in the zine! The credits page was another really fun part. I was very proud of the choice to show a small snippet of the artwork to connect the artist to their artwork with a small reminder to the reader. I've grown to really appreciate user experience touches like those, and try to incorperate them into my work.
twitch setup
Like many artists that also livestream on Twitch, I created all my own assets for my presence on the platform, from my talking avatar to my character's background to my break screens! These assets were made alongside my personal rebrand, and was a huge undertaking that I'm immensely proud of.
PNGtuber
This PNGTuber model is my pride and joy!! I had made 2 different models of my fursona Chip up to this point, but they were rudimentary with only about 12 static poses. I wanted to upgrade him in a big way, and this redesign project was a great opportunity. He was constructed in PNGTuber+ with over 51 individual layers and about 300 frames of animation across his 9 unique expressions. The eyes, brows, mouth, hair, gills, chest, arms, etc are all seperated to allow for fluid animations and easy swapping. He reacts to mic activity to give the illusion that I'm speaking through him. Sometimes I find myself just opening his model and talking into my mic for fun, LOL.I learned the program as I was making him, which was an endeavour to say the least, but in the end he's super cute! Unfortunately he does sometimes crash the program, the process of optimizing him is still ongoing...
Background
With my PNGTuber done, he needed a place to live, leading to this background! It's a futuristic building in a space city, inspired by sci-fi tropes and strangely the space room at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton.Throughout the room are an entire henhouse worth of easter eggs to my OCs, my favourite media, and real plushies I own! I really wanna live here...
Break screens
One of the things I lacked in my old setup was a proper "Starting Soon", "Be Right Back", and "Thanks for Watching" screen. My old solution was to just scribble something in MSPaint like "BRB", but I really wanted something more complex. With this new layout, I made a few different scenes of Chip in his room, from various angles that you see in the background. I really feel like it ties the entire room together and makes it feel like a more lived-in space. At this point, I thought that it would be even cooler to add some simple animation to the scenes, and I feel like that choice was a good one because it adds an extra layer of interest, which is necessary for a screen designed for people to wait.

pride flag landscape project
An ongoing project, turning various 2SLGBTQ+ flags into landscapes! I started this tradition in 2022 and its quickly become a tradition to add more flags to the series. The goal of these illustrations is to make an eye-catching landscape while still maintaining the colour order of the original flag, showcasing the beauty and vastness that can be found within our community. The original post has surpassed over 100,000 notes on tumblr, and it always warms my heart when people reply to it like "that's my flag!" I've also been told they make very good subtle pride merch :)

character design
I design characters mostly for personal projects and the occasional fan-designs for media I'm passionate about! You can read about them in great detail below, or just look at the pictures ❤️
design exploration: my fursona
i recently redesigned my fursona, chip. originally they had a grey jumpsuit, but i wanted something a little more bright to represent me online.i chose to design them with a futuristic, spacey theme in mind to go with the whole "nebulee" thing. I had a few different colour palettes in mind before i settled on the green-blue gradient jacket and star glasses
hexworld
character designs for my the comic project i'm writing with my girlfriend! its about two young adults whose lives are turned upside down when their tiny village is invaded by a cross-dimensional villain bent on freeing an evil god from its prison.a good chunk of characters in this comic follow a design philosophy i like to call "animal plus one"-- an axolotl + horns, a cat + bat wings, etc. i find it really fun to combine traits into unique animal characters!
sonic underground redesigns
a personal project to redesign the protagonists of the infamously lackluster DIC cartoon, sonic underground. this show is very close to my heart since i watched it as a kid and i wanted to draw my own take on the main characters.the trio are triplets and bandmates who use magical instruments as weapons. i wanted to unify their designs with a central element (their red jackets), while allowing their individual aesthetics to shine :)
design exploration: rowan and amber
character designs for two superhumans in a mundane world.amber is a pop star who wanted to be a super hero, but her ability to decorate her skin in light patterns proved not useful enough to make the cut. she wears cool, bold outfits incorporating the neon green of her hair and black and white checkerboard.
rowan is a metal manipulator who uses his ability to tinker with gadgets by day and run around as a vigilante by night. he wears comfy casual clothes and a mechanic-esque crime-fighting outfit.
redesign project: childhood sonic fan characters
these characters are from a redesign series i did on stream where i sat down and remade a handful of sonic fan characters i created around ages 8-11.the goal of the project was to create appealing designs while maintaining recognizable elements from the original illustrations, such as marina's ghostly form made more obvious and talin's robot limbs being extended across his whole body. This was a really fun project to do live!
Zine Experience
this is a handful of previous fanzines (and similar collaborative projects) i've participated in that i'm most proud of! it was wonderful to work alongside all my amazing fellow artist! physical zines are no longer available for order, but zines released for free will have a link to check them out <3
ties of time (2021)
merch artist - Fanzine centred on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. i designed an acrylic keychain based on the Hookshot item from the game that i now sell on my etsy!
